Phat Fiber and I am Giving it Away

Hey ya'll!  Here is my latest give away.

Phat Fibers theme for the month of January is 'Winter Wonderland'.  Well, here in Texas there is not a whole lot of difference outside.  We have the occasional snow or ice storm but never really have much other than brown grass and cold rain.  I didn't figure those would be very nice colors on yarn or fiber, so I went with warm and cozy things.

This one is a variegated yarn with orange, light blue, red, and white.  It evokes a day spent building snow men, so I called it 'Snow Day'.

This one is the colors of a nice and cozy fire.  So, I called it 'Fireside'.

This one is actually inspired by some plaid pajama pants that R gave me for Christmas.  I am not even kidding when I say that these were probably my favorite Christmas present.
So, this color way is named 'JimmieJam Pants'.

And, Last, but certainly not least is the yarn that is inspired by a self striping color way of mine-This one is variegated though.  It is called 'Flannel Shirt'.

All of these yarns are 2 Ply Sock, 400yd, 100g, 80% SW Merino/20% Nylon.

Which brings me to the Give Away portion of the blog.  This month I am giving away 1 skein of Flannel Shirt Variegated 2 Ply Sock Yarn as pictured in the last photo.  To enter to win you must...

If you would like win this fabulous yarn go to Brazen Stitchery , find a listing you love, and write about it in the comment section below. You can get extra entries by sharing on Facebook, Pinterest, Tweeting, or joining the Ravelry Group-Just come back and put a comment for each 'extra' that you do!

I will do a random drawing for the winner on January 31, 2014.

Workin' It Wednesday 1/8/14

Well, this week I finished this spin...

I got approximately 300 yards and my scale reads it at 7.95 oz.  I am planning on making mittens for the boys out of it.

AND I finished my shawlllll!!!!

Otha was my photographer.  Picture me saying go before each photo.

I used Little Monkey Stitch and Spin yarn and knit the Harry Shawl with it.  I wanted a pattern that would allow the yarn to show all of it's fabulousness.  I did not look at the pattern right, so my interpretation of the shawl has it's own design features.  Like 3 eyelet sections instead of 5 or more.

O said -'Mom!  You look like a cow girl!'

Other than knitting and spinning, I have also opened a show and started back to school, so most of my energy has been going towards the feeding, clothing, and schooling of 2 very awesome kids.  I am planning on a shop update on Friday.  I have some great new color ways coming out!

Workin' It Wednesday 1/1/2014

This week I got the shawl off of the shish kabob skewers.
I went down a few rows and attempted to pick up a lower row since I had sort of made a hash of it while saving it.
I still had to unpick one whole row, but now I am past the point that I was at when my needle broke.  My goal this week is to get to the eyelet section of the pattern.

I also dyed 20 skeins of yarn.  I will give ya'll a closer look when they are processed. (the trash bag you see behind the yarn is fabric, not trash)

I finished cable plying my batts from Little Monkey Stitch and Spin.   It ended up at app. 240 yards and still needs a bath. The mini skein is just a straight 2 ply at about 80 yd.

And I spun up 8 oz of singles to be turned into a fun and spunky 2 ply to make mittens for the boys.  This is one of my own color ways that expired out of the shop and I snatched up.

Happy New Years ya'll!  I have a few resolutions for my family, crafting, and business life that I may share on a different day.
