Weekending March 3, 2014

This weekend I spent the bulk of my time in prep for DFW Fiber Fest.  That is coming up the last weekend of this month, so it is Go Time around here.  I spent some time with this thing-my self striping skeiner.  Depending on how long I want the stripes to be, I wrap that many times per color.  It is tedious and time consuming work.

And, here is my dye table all set up for work.  I use a rice steamer and ziplock baggies to help me get that self striping look-which is all I dyed this weekend.

   I did have an oopsie yesterday.  This skein was supposed to be a 2 stripe pattern in purple and lilac. BUT, after I poured the first amount of dye on I poured the wrong color into the wrong color!  So, all the same color!

I ended up over dyeing one of the stripes with black-so the skein will now be black and purple stripes.

I also spent a lot of time at my sewing machine.  I cut out close to a hundred bags for the fest.  I think I will be able to get them all sewn up in time if I stick to the schedule.

And this is weird.  I do not remember sewing this bag.  Huh.
